“Home sales across the Hamilton-Burlington-Haldimand-Niagara North market area increased 10.6 per cent in October compared with September, although sales remained 5.3 per cent below the same period last year,” said Bill Duce, CEO of Cornerstone. “New listings declined 10.3 per cent month-over-month, while the MLS® Home Price Index increased 1.4 per cent from September but remained 2.4 per cent below October 2025. Hamilton-Burlington-Haldimand-Niagara North Area Highlights: 

• Home sales increased 10.6% month-over-month. 
• The number of newly listed properties decreased by 10.3% on a month-over-month basis. 
• The MLS® Home Price Index (HPI) was $728,900 in October 2026, an increase of 1.4% compared to one month ago and down 2.4% on a year-over-year basis. 
• The inventory of homes for sale across the market area decreased by 1.9% from the previous month and decreased by 12.6% year-over-year. 
• By the end of October, there were 4.6 months of supply across all property types, down from 4.7 months in the previous month and 4.2% lower than in October 2025.
