“Home sales in the Hamilton-Burlington area recorded another low for September, with six fewer sales than in September 2023. The number of new listings picked up from August, but they were still down 22.0% per cent from the same period last year,” said Bill Duce, CEO of Cornerstone. “Buyers and sellers are continuing to take a measured approach; however, the MLS® Home Price Index is only down modestly from last month and last year, which suggests the market is finding a degree of stability rather than experiencing sharp corrections. Hamilton-Burlington-Haldimand-Niagara North Area Highlights: 

• Home sales decreased 4.7% month-over-month. 
• The number of newly listed properties increased by 29.8% on a month-over-month basis.
• The MLS® Home Price Index (HPI) was $718,600 in September 2026, a decrease of 1.3% compared to one month ago and down 5.1% on a year-over-year basis. 
• The inventory of homes for sale across the market area increased by 3.8% from the previous month and decreased by 13.9% year-over-year. 
• By the end of September, the months’ supply was 4.6 months across all property types, up from 4.4 months over the previous month and 4.2% lower than in September 2025.
