Hamilton'n $7.9-million tiny cabins project is set to close in 2028

Hamilton’s temporary modular cabin project is set to close in 2028 despite a track record of helping dozens of people struggling with unsheltered homelessness find permanent housing.

And the city should follow through with that wind-down, says Coun. Cameron Kroetsch, who represents the neighbourhood where the cabin community was set up on municipal land off Barton Street West in 2025.
