Province should back away from Conservation Authority Changes

On Nov. 5, the province released proposed changes to the Conservation Authorities Act as part of its omnibus bill announced with the provincial budget. The province’s stated goal is to improve transparency and consistency in conservation authority operations, strengthen municipal oversight and streamline conservation authority roles in permitting and land -use planning.
